I am currently studying biology at the University of Bern. I pass on my experiences and the knowledge I have gathered through workshops, courses and field trips. As well as the workshops I offer on this website, I also run courses such as the Introductory Ornithology Course or the Field Ornithology Course, and lead excursions in the Biel and Bern regions.
It always gives me great pleasure when I can inspire others with my fascination for nature and photography – whether through my photos, articles on the website, talks, excursions or workshops...
Equipment
All group courses, as well as the photography trips, are organised in collaboration with the Nikon School. Thanks to Nikon’s support, course participants are able to try out new cameras and lenses directly in the field and, from a technical perspective, get even more out of their cameras. Personally, this collaboration has opened up incredible opportunities for me – opportunities I wouldn’t even have dreamt of a few years ago. On a personal level, too, I’ve learnt a great deal from it over the last few years and look forward to our continued development together.
Since spring 2023, I have been leading birdwatching and photography tours for Birdingtours. This German company has been offering a wide variety of tours across Europe and around the world for over 20 years. My first tour takes us to the picturesque Lofoten Islands in the far north of Norway. The photography tours are organised in collaboration with the Nikon School. Although I can no longer count my trips on both hands, the many incredible memories I’ve made with countless wonderful clients will certainly stay with me forever!
Since 2020, I have been carrying my kit exclusively in an f-stop rucksack. With a capacity of 80 litres, the f-stop Shinn offers plenty of space for my kit and is a faithful companion on my adventures. I remain completely satisfied with my decision to buy it, and am therefore all the more proud to have been an ambassador for the rucksack manufacturer since spring 2022.
The company produces a wide range of photography rucksacks, from small camera bags to rucksacks designed for cinema cameras. The big advantage of f-stop rucksacks is that the internal camera compartment can be removed and swapped out, depending on what you need the rucksack for at any given time. I completed my diving training and purchased my equipment through the Manta Cruz Dive Centre in Biel. Diving is not without its risks.
